Joggins Fossil Cliffs

Next week, we’re hosting the latest seminar in our Virtual Seminar Series! Join us at Zoom ID: 475 336 5217 on October 10 from noon to 1 pm ADT for Alexandra Bonham’s seminar, “Hoodoo we find? The story of Bryce Canyon National Park as told by fossils.”

Bryce Canyon National Park in southern Utah draws visitors worldwide to marvel at the splendid array of colorful rock pillars and erosional vistas. In addition to the unique ‘hoodoo’ landscape, the park geology records diverse ecology and environments from the late Cretaceous and Paleogene. Researchers and park staff have been uncovering the story of Bryce Canyon through park fossils and geology; this talk will highlight some of the exciting discoveries and ongoing efforts to learn about and protect park fossil resources.
